Beautiful Black and White Photography
Black and white photography has certainly evolved over the years. Initially, it wasn’t so much of a technique, but as the only way to capture memories and events on film for record and artistic purposes. Color photography was initially expensive, but caught on towards the middle of the 20th century. Today, black and white photography is considered a “niche” market, traditionally used for artistic purposes.
No photography can be considered true “black and white,” as shades of gray are also included in many photographs. Using various techniques, the artist, or photographer can properly create the desired effects.
Staying true to the past method of creation, there are quite a few photographers who believe that using black and white film produces the best results. However, with digital photography, the effect can be achieved either with camera effects or in post-processing.
In this post, we have showcased some great examples of black and white photography. Solely for use as inspiration, please do not consider it a “final” guide to the best black and white photographs, but as a resource for some new inspiration.
