3D art generally revolves heavily around computers, using Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Lightwave, Blender, and an arsenal of other tools. It takes a lot of time and patience to create work like this, but in the end, as you can see below, the work can be really amazing.
This post is not meant to be a roundup of the best work, but simply an inspirational piece for anyone who may be working on a 3D project and needs some ideas. Many of these have been recently published, so there is a good chance they are new to you.
There is no doubt about it: Twitter is one of the leading social media services. We’ve seen how much it’s grown this past year alone. Although growth to the site has flattened, it doesn’t necessarily mean the growth of the overall service is dropping. With the wide array of third-party services, there is a lot of potential behind the networking site.
For the designer or blogger, Twitter has become a powerful tool for connecting and networking with others. One of the most important aspects of the service is real-time search. What this means is that as soon as you post a question, it can be answered by someone around the world, and the results will appear in your “stream” within seconds of posting.
When you pair the status update feature with third-party services that aggregate and rank the tweets/links, an indispensable tool is formed. Any blogger, designer, or developer can tap into the large network that is Twitter to really collaborate with their following.
In this post, we explore several of the options these people have for using Twitter and sharing content through the service. While we can’t go through and provide an in-depth review of each, we provide a brief synopsis of each, allowing you to compare them.

In this showcase, we bring together some of the best WordPress themes that have recently been released. They are great for a wide array of uses, but primarily for use on your blog/personal website.
Jeff, who goes by *mynameishalo on DeviantART, is a fractal artist. His work has been featured in many showcases of this type of work, as I found that it really stands out. Some of his “favorites” have been listed on the page, but not too many other details have been provided.
Fractal art is created by calculating fractal objects and representing the calculation results as still images (or music, animations, or other media). While Photoshop is again used to enhance the images, there are other programs available to create this effect.
2010 is right around the corner, so what better way to welcome in a new year and a new decade than some wallpaper and graphics. These have been designed by the community and can be used on your desktop or simply for inspiration.
The 200s brought with them some of the biggest challenges around the world, but we also saw some of the largest technology and design advancements, at least compared to past decades. Each of the wallpapers below celebrates the new year, the resolutions we’ll be making (likely not keeping or meeting), and are all well-designed.
